Position: Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator – Loading Dump Trucks
Location: Charleston, SC (Tri-County Area)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: Mid-Senior
JOB Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy earth-moving equipment, including excavators, dozers, and motor graders, to support dirt pit operations.
- Efficiently load dump trucks, ensuring adherence to production goals and safety standards.
- Perform general housekeeping and maintenance checks of equipment, reporting usage/utilization hours daily.
- Use hand tools, such as shovels, to move materials as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and orderly worksite, reporting any safety concerns to management.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Perform daily safety inspections of equipment.
- Execute other general duties as directed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment, with a strong preference for excavator experience loading dump trucks.
- MSHA training and certification preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 90 pounds.
- Capability to stand, sit, and climb repeatedly for extended periods.
- Flexible availability, including overtime and possible weekends.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must pass a drug test and meet company employment standards, including background checks if required for job sites.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and environments.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment during site development.
- Proficiency in building retention ponds to required slopes.
- Capability to program GPS-installed devices.
- Experience in fine grading with various types of equipment.
