About the Position

Job Title: CDL Driver, Class B for Dump Trucks
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Charleston Metro, Tri-County Region (Dorchester, Berkeley, and Charleston Counties)
This is a full-time CDL dump truck job that requires a minimum Class B CDL. You will operate tri-axle dump trucks to haul construction materials to active job sites throughout the Tri-County area.
Typical Hours: 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM (hours may vary based on project needs; evenings and weekends may be required)
What We’re Looking For
We are hiring dump truck drivers who are serious about safety, reliability, and doing the job right. Here is what you need to qualify.
General Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, cold, mud, dust, humidity, and extreme temperatures
- Must wear personal protective gear daily (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, and ear plugs provided by the company)
- Must provide and wear your own long pants, work-rated boots, and at least a 4-inch sleeve or longer
- Must be able to reliably commute to job sites across the Tri-County area on time every day
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Must be available for some evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Must be able to perform repetitive physical labor, including standing and sitting for long periods, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy items
- Must be safety-conscious and aware of surroundings at all times
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and ongoing quarterly drug testing
- Must pass a background check and have a clean driving record
- All new hires will complete a 90-day probationary period
Specific Driver Requirements
- Must hold a valid South Carolina CDL Class B license
- Must have at least 5 years of total driving experience, with at least 2 years of verifiable CDL driving experience
- Experience with dumpster truck or dump truck operations is strongly preferred
- Must have a clean 10-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR); we recommend bringing your MVR when you apply in person
- Must submit to and pass a background check, drug and alcohol testing, and a pre-employment DOT physical
- Must complete FMCSA queries as required
- Must be able to climb in and out of the truck safely
- Must maintain accurate, neat paperwork and submit it on time
- Must check vehicle height clearance before departure when hauling equipment
- Must perform daily DOT safety inspections on your assigned vehicle
- Must remain compliant with all DOT, FMCSA, and company rules and regulations
- Must maintain your CDL license and current medical certification
- Must be punctual, responsive, and respectful when receiving direction from supervisors
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
